SPECIAL MEETING – JANUARY 29, 2018
Minutes of the board meeting are not official until after approval at the next regularly scheduled board
meeting.
The Board of Education met in special meeting on January 29th 2018 at 6 p.m. Members present were
Lynda Newberry, Jolene Peterson, Rogena Grigsby, Roger Goodman, Shirley Barrett, Tye McDaniel and
Brett Traffas. Also present was Amie Loreg, Clerk of the Board.
President Lynda Newberry called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.
Goodman moved and McDaniel seconded to adopt the agenda with the only item being Executive
session. 7-0, motion carried.
Peterson moved and Traffas seconded to go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss personnel
matters of a specific position pursuant to the non-elected personnel matter exemption to protect the
privacy interest of an identifiable individual with the board. 7 - 0, motion carried. Meeting to resume at
6:31 p.m. Goodman moved and Barrett seconded to extend the executive session for 30 minutes. 7-0,
motion carried. Meeting to resume at 7:01pm. McDaniel moved and Peterson seconded to extend the
executive session for 15minutes. 7-0, motion carried. Meeting to resume at 7:17pm. Goodman moved
and Peterson seconded to extend the executive session for 10 minutes. 7-0, motion carried. Meeting to
resume at 7:27pm. McDaniel moved and Traffas seconded to extend the executive session for 20
minutes. 7-0, motion carried. Meeting to resume at 7:49pm.
Barrett moved and Goodman seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:51pm. 7-0, motion carried.
