District Wide Technology Use
District Wide Technology Usage
USD 511 believes that Technology in the classroom shall be implemented to enhance, engage and stimulate the learning environment for all students to advance their educational experience and skills in order to prepare them for post-graduate success.
- Chromebooks: A 1-device to 1-student Chromebook technology initiative was started in January of 2015, with each High School student receiving a Samsung Chromebook. Currently, every student at Attica High has their own Chromebook and student email to access homework online. In September of 2015, the district bought and implemented 30 more Chromebooks for the Junior High and 6th grade students. In 2020 chromebook implementation was expanded to the fifth grade, making our 5th-12th grade ratio at 1 to 1.
- iPads: Attica Puls Elementary students now have access to iPads on a 1-to-1 ratio. Being able to access Accellerated Reader, Lexia, and many other educational apps on the iPad help make it very easy to integrate into the classroom.
- Computer Lab: The district's computer lab is equipped with 18 Dell desktop computers and 16 HP laptops. The lab is used on a daily basis by all grade levels and is also where most of the state testing takes place.
- Promethean Boards: All classrooms (with the exception of PE & Art) are equipped with a interactive Promethean Board at the front of the room. Teachers use this board in place of the old, common white boards to engage and interact with students while displaying interactive lesson plans, or displaying a short video that goes along with the lesson plan.
