SPECIAL MEETING – JANUARY 22, 2018
Minutes of the board meeting are not official until after approval at the next regularly scheduled board
meeting.
The Board of Education met in special meeting on January 22nd 2018 at 6 p.m. Members present were
Jolene Peterson, Rogena Grigsby, Shirley Barrett, Tye McDaniel and Brett Traffas. Also present were
Charles Keller, superintendent and Amie Loreg, Clerk
Vice President Rogena Grigsby called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.
Lynda Newberry joined the meeting from home via speakerphone.
Grigsby moved and Barrett seconded to adopt the agenda with items Executive session &
Superintendent Contract. 6-0, motion carried.
Peterson moved and Barrett seconded to go into executive session for 10 minutes to discuss a specific
employees status pursuant to the non-elected personnel matter exemption to protect the privacy
interest if an identifiable individual with the board. 6 - 0, motion carried. Meeting to resume at 6:12 p.m.
Grigsby moved and Peterson second to extend the executive session for 5 minutes and invite in Mr.
Keller. 6-0, motion carried. Meeting to resume at 6:17pm.
Peterson moved and Grigsby seconded to accept the resignation of Mr. Keller, effective June 30th 2018.
6-0, motion carried.
Peterson moved in Grigsby seconded to go into executive session for five minutes to discuss a specific
employee’s status pursuant to the non-elected personnel matter exemption to protect the privacy
interest of an identifiable individual with Mr Keller and the board. 6-0, motion carried. Meeting to
resume at 6:23 pm.
Traffas moved and Peterson seconded to go into executive session for 10 minutes to discuss a specific
employees status pursuant to the non-elected personal exemption to protect the Privacy interest of an
identifiable individual with the board. 6 - oh, motion carried. Meeting to resume at 6:33 pm.
Peterson moved and McDaniel seconded to adjourn the meeting at 6:35 pm. 6-0, motion carried.
