Mission Statement

The Transition to Career Program is a joint effort among USD 511 and USD 361 to improve opportunities for Harper County students to explore various career interests. This program is designed to meet the state emphasis placed on Individual Plans of Study (IPS) and the emphasis to build soft skills among high school students.

The vision of the T2C Program is to graduate students that are highly aware of their passions, interests, and skillsets to ensure the success of each student. It is our goal to provide Harper County students with exposure to careers and experiences that are meaningful, hands-on, and relevant to their passions and skillsets.

Objectives & Goals

  • Provide knowledge of available local career opportunities through strong relationships with businesses, industry, community, and schools.

  • Enhance regional and community economic development.

  • Provide opportunities for students to set and attain goals through practical experiences.

  • Enhance career exposure and employability skills so post-secondary goals are attained.

  • Increased engagement and ownership in student learning.

  • Increase soft skills by providing opportunities to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.
